I can not attest to how your particular ISP will respond to you spoofing your MAC address to get a new IP. Mine doesn't care so I can get away with it daily. There are other methods to doing this depending on your setup and if anyone wants to share how they change their IP then I will add it in here but the below method is mine using a Netgear Router.

    What you will need:

    • A router and a modem. (I don't believe this works for all in ones)
    • Administrative access to your router (Either you own it or they allow you access)
    • A dynamic IP (I'm sure you already know but this will not work on a static IP)

The Steps: (based on my Netgear)

    1. Login to your router by pasting the login address in the browser. I have mine bookmarked: (http://www.routerlogin.net/) but yours may be one of the others such as 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 and I believe some others.

    2. While in Netgear Genie click on Internet

    3. Scroll down to bottom of page and you will see the MAC section

    4. Use this nifty tool to create a MAC for you. Make sure its in the right format: https://www.miniwebtool.com/mac-address-generator/

    5. Enter the mac address and click apply.

    6. Immediately unplug the modems power supply and wait for the router to reboot with the new mac.

    7. Plug the modem back in and it should sort itself out. Personally, I don't like waiting for everything to sort itself out so after the modem is up and running I go ahead and reboot the router again. I didn't have to do this on my old netgear router as the change seemed immediate but I do it on my new one since the change seems to take about 10 minutes before all my devices come back online.

That's it! After that enjoy your new IP. I keep track of all the IP I'm assigned in a spreadsheet to ensure that I don't get duplicates in the same week.

Again, great guide. Quick semi-related question: When you use a proxy is your base IP revealed to the site in question (GH, Swag, etc.)? If so, what's the best way to hide it? How about with VPNs?
